Link Checkers
-
Xenu's Link Sleuth - $0
- Easy to use, User-friendly, FAST (compared to the other link checkers), Report easy to generate, Report easy to understand and use
- However
- it would be nice if the Report showed the line number of the broken link
- it would be nice if the Report showed the name for the broken link (as shown in the browser)
- Limited number of options
- Recommended - at any price
- This is my first choice - at any price - I prefer Xenu over FastLinkChecker and AlertLinkRunner
-
Fast Link Checker - WebTweakTools.NET - US$50
- Much more detail than Xenu
- More options than Xenu
- Much slower than Xenu
-
Alert LinkRunner - Fast, intuitive, easy to use, not too expensive (US$40) - creates reports ordered by source file and stored as html or txt. - Recommended
- Faster than FastLinkChecker
- Interface not very intuitive
- Checks locally, but the report only shows the host links (i.e. not the links to your pages on your hard drive)
- No tech support. Their Website has broken links. (ordering, forums, etc?)
- Is this company on the brink of closing?
- ---
- Atomz - online link checker
- easy, fast, free, you get what you pay for
- The reports are useless because they don't tell you what page has the broken link.
- However, this may be a good site search engine????
- CheckLinks using the HttpRequest object
- Hardin MD - Link Checkers
- LinkAlarm - Link Check Your Sites - US$0.01 per page per check - This is VERY expensive!! (= TOO expensive)
-
Linkbot Pro $US395 - 15 days trial (Excellent product, easy to use)
tetranetsoftware.com - this site has disappeared
- LinkScan/QuickCheck (http://malch.elsop.com/quick.cgi) checks one page at a time interactively.
- Macromedia - Dreamweaver
- NetMechanic - Link checker and HTML code checking by NetMechanic - over $200/year/URL - This is VERY VERY VERY expensive!! (= TOO expensive)
- WDVL: Links Checkers
- Yahoo! - Computers and Internet > Data Formats > HTML > Validation and Checkers
- SEVENtwentyfour - $100/yr(max.100pages)
- W3C Link Checker
- Web Link Validator: The Broken Links Doctor - $145
- 30-day trial limits you to only 500 links per site
- REL Link Checker - $0
- Checks 1000 links per site, but has fewer features available (compared to its big brother, Web Link Validator)
- Not very intuitive or user-friendly.
- USELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- This program lists the links that are broken, but does not tell you what page the link is in. How can you fix the link if you don't know what file it is in?????
- STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
