Step #1

1. Turn on the computer and monitor.
2. Login to the Novell Netware network:  (Helpdesk)
UserID (= UserName = Your DC student number):  9999999
Password:  Your birthday - MMDDYY
• You must change this immediately.  See Step #3

Step #2
Change your password  (only if you haven't already changed it)

1. To change your DC1-Novell  Netware password (Helpdesk)
1. Go to the Command prompt        (Start menu | All Programs | Run | cmd.exe)
2. Type:     SETPASS
2. Password:  At least six characters&digits.  No spaces or other characters.  Your new password must be something original that nobody else will be able to guess.
3. Note that as a security precaution, your password does not show on the screen.
4. Make sure you get a message that says your password was changed.  If you don't get a message saying the password was changed, then the password wasn't changed.  Try again.
5. Never give your password to anybody.  You are responsible for all usage of your account.
6. If you suspect anyone might know your password, change it immediately.  You may change your password again whenever you like.
7. Be really careful how you choose your password.  (Hints)

Printing (Helpdesk)

1. You will need to purchase a Printer Card ($1) or add money to your Student Card in order to use the printers in the Computer Science labs.
2. Next you must go to the Academic Computing Centre's counter (beside the 2F.26 lab) and transfer the money from your Printer Card to your network account.
